7-day anagama-woodfired, bare-clay "Crypto" plate, stretched and stamped with 2 iterations of the crypto stamp series.  -Natural fly ash and  crust and kiln drips. Fired 2019 in the Jeff Shapiro anagama.
 
Original crypto stamps are an exploration of the relationship between information and decoration, the decay of information, and the fetishization of foreign alphabets. Each set of symbols is a coherent and logical progression of a rule or pattern, carved into a clay cube. As such, each set of symbols has six parts or iterations.
